Yogesh Alekari travelled across 17 countries, but his dream ride ended in the UK when thieves stole his bike and all his belongings.
Nottingham: Indian biker and vlogger Yogesh Alekari was living his dream, riding from Mumbai across 17 countries. But sadly, his journey came to a sudden stop in the UK when someone stole his bike, along with everything he had.
The 33-year-old had parked his KTM 390 Adventure bike at Wollaton Park in Nottingham. He just went to have breakfast nearby. But in less than an hour, the bike was gone. CCTV later showed it was taken by a man riding off with two people on mopeds.
Yogesh lost not just the bike, but also his laptop, camera, passport, cash, and clothes—worth over £15,000. “I travelled through Iran and Turkey, people warned me it’s dangerous. But nothing happened there. Then I came to the UK and this happened,” he said.
He had plans to continue his trip to Spain, Morocco, and then down the coast of Africa before returning to India. Yogesh also shares his journey online with over 180,000 followers on Instagram. Now, he is heartbroken. “I cried in the park. I called the police. They just gave me a case number. No one came,” he said.
Nottinghamshire Police said they are investigating and shared a photo of the stolen bike. Officer Andy Smith said, “We understand how hard this is for him. We hope someone can help us find the bike.”
Yogesh still hopes he can continue his dream ride. “I spent so much to get here. I don’t want to give up now,” he said.
He updated his social handle with the latest.
