ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the summit held in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing the meeting as a positive step toward global peace and trust-building in Europe. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) lauded President Trump’s initiative, underlining the importance of dialogue in addressing global challenges.
The Trump Putin Alaska summit is viewed by the UAE as a vital opportunity to promote mutual understanding and peaceful resolutions to ongoing international issues. In a formal statement, the Ministry emphasised that open, constructive dialogue remains the most effective way to bridge political divides and resolve disputes between nations.
MoFA highlighted that joint efforts from both presidents to de-escalate the Ukraine crisis provide new hope for ending conflicts and reinforcing stability worldwide. It added that such high-level discussions help build confidence and demonstrate a shared commitment to resolving disputes through diplomacy rather than force.
The UAE has consistently supported multilateral efforts aimed at advancing peace, and its response to the Trump Putin Alaska summit reflects its wider foreign policy of promoting conflict resolution, international cooperation, and long-term stability.
