JERUSALEM: Wildfires near Jerusalem have caused chaos, forcing mass evacuations and urgent international help requests. The wildfires near Jerusalem intensified on Wednesday, prompting closures of major roads and displacing thousands from at least ten communities.
Emergency crews rushed along the highway, searching abandoned cars for stranded individuals. Videos circulating online show thick smoke enveloping the road, with civilians fleeing on foot.
As per reports, over 120 firefighting teams and 12 aircraft are battling the inferno. Still, conditions are dire due to high winds exceeding 60 mph and dry terrain.
Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy and Bulgaria among nations contacted for aid in fighting wildfires. As thousands flee and emergency teams work around the clock, residents brace for long nights ahead.
