Abu Dhabi: This year, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) expanded its sacrificial meat campaign to reach beneficiaries in the UAE and 53 countries globally. Over 100,000 individuals in the UAE benefited from the campaign, while an additional 400,000 people across Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America received support. The ERC also extended its Eid clothing programme to assist 27,700 beneficiaries outside the UAE.
The sacrificial meat campaign, initiated on the first day of Eid al-Adha, involved slaughtering animals and distributing meat through ERC’s foreign offices, UAE embassies, and in collaboration with charitable societies and humanitarian organizations. This initiative aimed to alleviate food shortages and combat rising prices, particularly benefiting vulnerable segments and needy families worldwide.
ERC focused on enhancing the campaign’s scope and budget this year to ensure a broader impact. The goal was to include more vulnerable communities and ensure equitable distribution of sacrificial meat to those in need.
