Symbiosis Dubai marks its first anniversary with India’s Education Minister, celebrating rapid growth, 500+ families, and expanded CAA-accredited programs.

DUBAI: Symbiosis Dubai, the first Indian university to launch in the UAE with full accreditation from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and KHDA, marked its first anniversary with a celebratory event at Taj Dubai, Business Bay. The milestone was graced by Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, who joined faculty, students, and dignitaries to reflect on the institution’s achievements in its founding year.

Since its inauguration in November 2024 by H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan and H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar, Symbiosis Dubai has rapidly expanded from offering four programs to ten undergraduate and postgraduate programmes today, spanning business, commerce, technology, media, and psychology. The university now counts over 500 families as part of its growing community.

In his address, Dharmendra Pradhan praised the institution’s role in strengthening India-UAE academic ties, stating: “Symbiosis Dubai stands as a symbol of opportunity and mobility for students, strengthening academic and cultural ties between our nations. We look forward to seeing these relations flourish in the years to come.”

The first year also saw notable student achievements—from football victories at the Excel Cup to impactful community initiatives like Graffiti for Good, Ramadan drives with Kiswa, and the donation of 19 devices to those in need. Partnerships were also announced with Cisco Networking Academy, Edu Scan, Behaviour Enhancement, and Odoo, further embedding industry collaboration into the student journey.

“In just one year, we have grown into a place where students from across the world find not only academic excellence but also a true sense of belonging – a home away from home.” said Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, Symbiosis International University

Looking ahead, Symbiosis Dubai will introduce its flagship MBA powered by SIBM Pune in 2026, alongside its Centre for Applied AI – Dubai Chapter, ensuring graduates are equipped for future-facing careers in AI, data science, and cybersecurity.

With Dubai now enrolling over 42,000 higher education students—42% of whom are Indian—the UAE has firmly established itself as a top global academic hub. Symbiosis Dubai’s rapid rise reflects this shift, offering Indian and international students a world-class academic experience closer to home.
