Four Aster DM Healthcare hospitals in the UAE and Saudi Arabia have been named among Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026.
DUBAI: Aster DM Healthcare has secured international recognition with four of its hospitals listed in Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026, which honours 350 hospitals worldwide that excel in adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation to improve patient care and operations.
From the UAE, Aster Hospital Al Qusais (#267), Aster Hospital Mankhool (#309) and Medcare Hospital Al Safa (#248) made the list, with Aster Hospital Al Qusais securing its spot for the second consecutive year. Expanding beyond the UAE, Aster Sanad Hospital (#341) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was also recognised.
This year’s ranking introduced a ribbon system to highlight smart hospital performance. Aster Hospital Al Qusais and Aster Hospital Mankhool received two ribbons each, while Aster Sanad Hospital and Medcare Hospital Al Safa earned one ribbon each, underscoring Aster’s strong progress in digital healthcare innovation.
The group’s commitment to technology-driven healthcare is evident across its network. Aster has pioneered robotics-assisted surgeries, introduced myAster – the region’s first fully integrated healthcare super-app – and launched SmyleAI, an AI-powered dental and aesthetic platform. Its hospitals also deploy AI-powered clinical documentation and IoT-enabled infrastructure to enhance workflows and patient experiences.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said: “Having four of our hospitals recognised among the World’s Best Smart Hospitals reflects how far we have come in uniting digital transformation with compassionate care. We remain committed to building systems that are future-ready, resilient, and patient-centric.”
Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, added: “Being featured once again in Newsweek’s list is a proud moment. For us, a smart hospital is not just about technology, but also about empowering doctors, nurses, and staff with tools that make their work more efficient and fulfilling.”
The ranking, developed in partnership with Statista, is based on surveys of healthcare professionals and evaluations of hospitals’ adoption of advanced technologies. The recognition comes as the global smart hospitals market is forecasted to surpass USD 140 billion by 2030, driven by investments in AI-powered diagnostics, robotics, and automation.
