SHARJAH: In a major announcement, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, shared that the nature reserves in Sharjah aren’t meant for people to walk around in, but rather to protect the environment. These spaces are there to safeguard wild plants, animals, trees, insects, and reptiles, helping maintain the natural balance.
In a call to the “Direct Line” programme, Sheikh Sultan said these reserves give endangered species like birds, insects, and reptiles a safe place to live. Letting the public in could put them at risk.

He also talked about a new project along Al Dhaid Road, where animals like camels, goats, sheep, and horses will roam freely inside a large fenced area. There will be parking for visitors who want to watch the animals from a distance.
Sheikh Sultan stressed the importance of protecting Sharjah’s unique wildlife, including species that can only be found there. He urged everyone to respect and care for nature.
