Dubai’s RTA has confirmed free parking on Friday, September 5, and shared adjusted Metro, Tram, and customer service hours for the holiday.
Dubai: If you’re planning to drive or travel around the city on Friday, September 5, here’s some good news. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that public parking will be free across the city in celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. The exception is multi-level parking and Al Khail Gate Parking (N.365), which will remain paid.
Parking fees will kick back in as normal on Saturday, September 6.
RTA has also confirmed the public transport schedules for the day. Dubai Metro on both the Red and Green Lines will run from 5am until 1am the next day. Dubai Tram will operate from 6am to 1am. If you’re catching a bus, you’ll want to check the S’hail app for the updated holiday timetable.
Marine transport services will also be running, but RTA recommends visiting their official website for exact timings.
All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on September 5. However, Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, and RTA’s Head Office will stay open 24/7 for digital service needs.
If your car needs a technical test, note that vehicle testing centres will also be closed on Friday. Regular working hours resume on Saturday, September 6.
So whether you’re planning a drive, using public transport, or simply enjoying the day off, this update makes it easier to move around Dubai while taking in the long weekend vibes.
