ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology – NCM – has issued a weather advisory for the country from Sunday, October 6, to Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
According to NCM, the weather is influenced by low pressure systems. A surface low pressure is present, along with an upper air low pressure from the South and another from the North. This brings relatively cooler air in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Due to the mountains in the east, this setup can lead to the formation of convective clouds in some Eastern and Northern areas, which could extend to Southern areas, potentially bringing rain.
Sunday’s weather: There’s a chance of local convective clouds forming in the East, which may bring some rainfall.
Monday to Wednesday weather: Local convective clouds are expected to form over the Eastern and Northern areas, possibly extending to the South. These clouds could bring light to moderate rainfall, with some heavy rain at times, along with lightning and thunder.
Wind: Winds will be light to moderate, starting from the southeast and northeast, turning northwesterly. At times, these winds will become fresh to strong, raising dust and sand, which will reduce visibility.
Sea conditions: The sea will be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

The NCM advises residents to stay updated on weather conditions and exercise caution, especially during periods of reduced visibility and heavy rainfall.
