Visitors to the UAE can now come into the country on a three-month visa. People can take advantage of the chance, according to a contact center representative at the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP).
The call center representative advised them to speak with their travel agents, who may assist them in getting the 90-day visit visa.
Industry insiders predict that by the end of May 2023, this visa will be available, enabling visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days. Depending on the service provider, the visa may be extendible within the nation for an additional expense.
Libin Varghese, sales director at Rooh Tourism LLC, claimed that locals are unaware of the existence of this three-month visa. Industry insiders claim that by the end of May 2023, this will have been reinstated, allowing guests to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days.
“There are two types of entry permits — a tourist visa or a leisure visa and a visit visa. A tourist visa is issued for 30 or 60 days. The visit visa is issued for 90 days,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide.
This longer visit visa complements the currently available tourist visa options, which include a 30-day or 60-day stay, and gives visitors more flexibility when making travel plans.
Visitors looking for shorter stays in the UAE have traditionally favored the 30-day and the more recent 60-day tourist visas, which give them plenty of time to explore the nation’s famous attractions and partake in top-notch shopping and dining.
According to industry experts, anyone can apply for this visa. “Currently, we have not received much inquiry about it, and visitors who prefer this entry permit are their family members residing in the UAE, as they want to spend a longer time. Take for instance, if a child who is studying in his home country visits UAE during vacations or parents of a resident,” said Varghese.
Depending on the granting travel professional, the cost of a 90-day visit visa ranges from Dh1,500 to Dh2,000 and can even be extended inside the nation. “The exact details of extension has not been announced as the visa was introduced a few days ago,” said Varghese.
If applying for a long-term visit visa, the following paperwork is required, according to Subair:
- Recent passport-size coloured photograph
- Passport copy
- Processing time
“Once a person applies for this visa, it may take up to five working days. But we can even receive it in two days,” said Subair.
