DUBAI: Digital Dubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft UAE to enhance collaboration in technological innovations and their effective application. This partnership aims to facilitate institutional integration among government entities and the residents of Dubai.

The signing ceremony occurred on the Digital Dubai platform within the Dubai Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2024. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, represented the organisation, while Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, signed on behalf of Microsoft.

This agreement highlights Microsoft’s commitment to launching a comprehensive initiative focused on developing skills in artificial intelligence (AI) to support Digital Dubai’s digital transformation efforts. Microsoft will help enhance future skills across various dimensions, concentrating on qualifying AI administrative staff and executives responsible for developing AI strategies within the Dubai government.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori welcomed this collaboration, noting its importance in advancing Dubai’s digital transformation. He stated, “Our partnership with Microsoft UAE aligns with our approach to building global collaborations to achieve common objectives. It reflects the mutual trust between us and our partners, as well as our joint commitment to adapt to rapid global changes, particularly in artificial intelligence and industrial revolution technologies.”

Al Mansoori further emphasised Dubai’s role as a hub for global companies known for innovation. He highlighted Microsoft’s significant contributions to shaping Dubai’s digital landscape and expressed excitement about elevating their partnership, making AI a central focus.

Naim Yazbeck reiterated the importance of AI in Dubai’s vision as a digital city, stating that equipping government employees with necessary technologies is crucial. He affirmed Microsoft’s commitment to empowering government staff to enhance public service quality and solidify Dubai’s position as a leader in AI innovation.
