BEIJING: The official medals and slogan for the inaugural 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) were revealed on Tuesday, exactly one month before the opening ceremony of the first-ever multi-sport global event dedicated to humanoid robots.
Scheduled to take place from August 14 to 17 in Beijing, China, the WHRG will showcase robotics excellence across competitive sports, live performances, and scenario-based challenges. According to a report by China Central Television (CCTV), the Games will include 21 main events, with robots competing in activities such as badminton, basketball, and table tennis.
The medals—gold, silver and bronze—feature a futuristic design on their front side, with a pair of symmetrical robotic arms linked by a diamond-shaped chip. The motif is symbolic of breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) technology that have made this event possible.
The Games’ official slogan, “Game for the Future: AI in Motion,” aims to capture the spirit of innovation, machine learning, and human-robot collaboration. It also highlights the merging of sports with intelligent technology, positioning the Games as a unique global platform for robotics.

A themed promotional event took place at the Badaling section of the Great Wall on Tuesday, with robot teams carrying symbolic “Energy Cubes” to key landmarks around Beijing. Their journey will culminate at the National Speed Skating Oval, where a unified “Smart Core” will be illuminated during the Games’ opening ceremony.
The WHRG is being jointly organised by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, China Media Group (CMG), and other affiliated bodies.
