The World Robot Conference 2025 in Beijing debuts over 100 cutting-edge robotics products, attracting global experts and industry leaders.

BEIJING: The World Robot Conference (WRC) 2025 opened in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area on Friday, showcasing more than 100 brand-new robotics products — nearly double the number from last year. Running until Tuesday, the event is themed “Making robots smarter, making embodied agents more intelligent” and highlights breakthroughs in robotics technology and applications.

The five-day conference gathers around 200 leading robotics companies from across the globe, presenting more than 1,500 exhibits. Over 400 prominent guests, including international scientists, top industry experts, organisation representatives, and entrepreneurs, will participate in the main forum and over 20 thematic discussions covering industry trends, technology applications, and innovation strategies.

Among the headline attractions are agile quadruped robots, advanced rescue and inspection robots, novel catheter-shaping robots for medical use, and intelligent robotic lawn mowers. Humanoid robots remain a focal point, with 50 manufacturers unveiling their latest full-body designs, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of human-like machines.

The conference will also host more than 31 side events designed to foster international collaboration, boost industrial applications, promote technology standardisation, and nurture robotics talent. Competitions, networking sessions, and live demonstrations further enrich the programme.

China continues to play a leading role in the global robotics sector, accounting for two-thirds of worldwide robot patent applications in 2024 and producing 556,000 industrial robots — securing its position as the world’s top manufacturer. The WRC aims to reinforce this leadership by serving as a hub for innovation, cooperation, and the commercialisation of advanced robotics solutions.
