Since its establishment in 2022, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has become a powerhouse in aquatic sports, hosting major global championships and nurturing UAE’s next generation of swimming champions.
ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMASC) has emerged as one of the UAE’s leading sporting institutions, marking a major leap in programmes, championships, and talent development since its inception in 2022 under the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
Built on a vision to strengthen the UAE’s aquatic sports ecosystem, the club combines the hosting of international events with training elite athletes capable of representing the nation at the Olympic Games and other global platforms. Its core strategy focuses on sports culture promotion, team training, and community engagement — spanning disciplines such as swimming, water polo, artistic swimming, freediving, finswimming, open-water swimming, underwater hockey, and adaptive sports for People of Determination.
In November 2025, the club will host the CMAS UAE Finswimming Development Cup and the CMAS World Cup Finswimming Indoor, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a world-class sports destination. ADMASC is also preparing for participation in the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, a milestone that reflects its growing global footprint.
Earlier this year, the club’s swimmers earned 45 medals — including 14 golds — at the Abu Dhabi Swim for Life International Championship, which saw over 1,000 participants from around the world, including Olympians. Among standout athletes, Hussein Shawky broke the Arab record in the 50-metre freestyle with a time of 22.88 seconds, winning gold at the Arab Championship in Morocco.
Humaid Abdullah Al Hooti, Chairman of ADMASC, said the club’s achievements stem from its long-term strategy to develop Olympic-level athletes while embedding aquatic sports in UAE’s social and cultural fabric. Vice Chairman Ali Khalil Al Hosani highlighted the club’s inclusive vision, with 30 swimmers of determination taking part in its most recent championship.
ADMASC’s inclusive philosophy, professional training, and global collaborations are propelling Abu Dhabi to new heights in aquatic sports — making it a true hub for excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
