Emirates has signed a multi-year deal to become the Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball, expanding its global sports partnerships into European basketball.
DUBAI: Emirates has taken a significant step into the world of European basketball by becoming the Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball, marking a historic expansion of its global sports sponsorship portfolio. The multi-year partnership sees Emirates’ iconic ‘Fly Better’ branding prominently featured on player jerseys, training kits, and team apparel — mirroring its presence on Real Madrid’s football teams.
This move makes Emirates the first airline to secure primary branding on both Real Madrid’s football and basketball divisions, further deepening its long-standing relationship with one of the world’s most celebrated sports clubs. The collaboration will also bring enhanced branding at Movistar Arena in Madrid, visibility during Spanish Liga ACB, EuroLeague, and Copa del Rey matches, as well as hospitality and global campaign rights.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, remarked, “We’re proud to become the Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball, expanding our presence in the game and building on our strong bond with the club. This partnership strengthens our connection with fans and allows us to showcase Emirates on Europe’s top courts.”
In addition to arena visibility and hospitality benefits, Emirates will access Ciudad Real Madrid Training Complex for exclusive events, player meet and greets, and youth clinics with legendary athletes — reinforcing its global fan engagement mission.
This latest partnership complements Emirates’ broader commitment to the sport. In 2024, the airline entered a landmark partnership with the NBA, becoming its Official Global Airline Partner and the title sponsor of the Emirates NBA Cup. Emirates is also the first-ever referee jersey patch partner for the NBA.
Closer to home, the airline has supported the UAE Basketball Association and Dubai International Basketball Championship for nearly three decades. It also sponsors Beirut Basketball Club and previously backed the 2014 FIBA World Championship in the UAE.
Operating 28 weekly flights to Spain, Emirates continues to be a major supporter of Spanish sport, also sponsoring the ATP’s Mutua Madrid Open and Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.
