DUBAI: India and Sri Lanka are all set to host the next ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026, following the thrilling 20-team event in the USA and the West Indies that wrapped up last weekend.

According to reports from Asian News International (ANI), the tournament will feature 55 matches played in the same format as before. It starts with four groups of five teams each, followed by two Super Eights groups, semi-finals, and ultimately the grand final to crown the new champion.

Sri Lanka and India have secured their spots as hosts for the 2026 edition. The other teams qualified based on their performance in the 2024 Super Eight qualifiers and their ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings as of June 30th.

The remaining eight teams for the 2026 tournament will qualify through regional qualifiers. Africa, Asia, and Europe will have two qualification spots each, while the Americas and East-Asia Pacific regions will have one spot each.
