RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is making headlines with plans for the world’s tallest sports tower, set to redefine athletic experiences in Riyadh’s Sports Boulevard. This ambitious project, unveiled in July 2024 and approved by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is a cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Global Sports Tower will soar 130 meters high, becoming a central feature in the world’s longest linear park, the Riyadh Sports Boulevard. This 135-kilometer-long park combines sports, culture, and art, aiming to enhance the city’s lifestyle with futuristic urban design.

Anticipated as a hub for sports enthusiasts, the tower will house over 30 facilities spread across 84,000 square meters. Highlights include a record-breaking 98-meter indoor climbing wall and a 250-meter running track offering panoramic city views.

Located strategically within the Sports Boulevard, the tower’s exact position is yet to be disclosed. The project promises world-class amenities catering to diverse interests like climbing, running, and other sports activities. It aims to boost Riyadh’s economic profile and elevate its status on the global stage.

With no confirmed opening date, enthusiasts are advised to follow Riyadh Xpress for updates on this groundbreaking development. The Riyadh Sports Boulevard itself will feature secure pathways for cyclists, runners, and pedestrians, covering a vast expanse of 4.4 million square meters. It will also include up to 50 sports facilities and investment zones spread over three million square meters, promising a vibrant blend of recreation and community engagement.
