TOBA: The Sharjah Team started the 2025 F1H2O World Championship with a powerful performance, securing a resounding victory in the opening round at Indonesia’s scenic Lake Toba. The team, already a dominant force in the series, made their presence known early on, reaffirming their global competitiveness with an impressive one-two finish in the main event.
Sharjah’s Boat No. 17, expertly driven by Roozti Wyit, showcased exceptional control and speed, clinching first place and replicating last year’s win. Wyit now leads the overall standings with 29 points, combining this victory with a second-place finish in the Sprint Race a day earlier.
Adding to the Emirati celebration, the Dubai-based Victory Team secured second place with Alec Weckström at the helm of Boat No. 3, underlining the UAE’s dominance in the sport. Meanwhile, Britain’s Ben Jelf finished third with Boat No. 9, while Sharjah’s second entry, Boat No. 18 led by Stefan Arand, narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.
Team Abu Dhabi faced mixed results, with Mansoor Al Mansoori placing 12th and Erik Stark retiring early due to a collision involving French competitor Peter Morin. Despite setbacks, the UAE’s overall presence remained strong, with the Sharjah Team now topping the leaderboard and setting the tone for the rest of the season.
The F1H2O World Championship continues with high anticipation as teams gear up for the next round, where all eyes will again be on Sharjah’s rising momentum.
