DUBAI: Dubai Ride 2024, presented by DP World, transformed Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai today into an energetic hub for cycling enthusiasts, welcoming 37,130 participants for a record-breaking morning of fitness and fun. As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), this event offered cyclists a unique view of Dubai’s iconic landmarks, with options of a 4-km family loop or a 12-km route along Sheikh Zayed Road. An exciting addition this year was the Dubai Ride Speed Laps, allowing advanced riders to test their skills with a thrilling 30 km/h challenge.
Notable athletes, including American triathlon silver medallist Taylor Spivey and UAE’s own Olympian Safia Al Sayegh, joined the event, sharing their passion for fitness with the community. Their participation brought inspiration, aligning with Dubai’s goal to encourage an active lifestyle. Spivey is also set to compete in the Dubai T100 Triathlon World Championship on November 16-17 at Meydan, adding buzz to her presence.
Setting the tone at the start, Dubai Police supercars and talabat riders led the way, while UNTOLD Dubai’s DJs added a musical vibe. The presence of popular characters Modesh and Dana on the Downtown loop kept spirits high for families and children, adding a joyful touch to the event.
