ABU DHBAI: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has launched the UAE’s first live radio show on sustainability, called “Sustainable Awareness.” This initiative aligns with the UAE’s 2024 “Year of Sustainability” and aims to raise awareness about environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

The programme highlights the UAE’s leadership in sustainable practices and showcases national efforts to build partnerships that address global sustainability challenges. It seeks to promote innovative solutions and advance sustainable development goals, supporting the transition to a green economy.

Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ADFD, expressed his excitement about the programme, noting its importance in educating the community on sustainability concepts and celebrating the UAE’s sustainability heritage. The show will present best practices, initiatives, and projects that support sustainability, enriching Arabic research in this field.

“Sustainable Awareness” will air on Noor Dubai Radio with 13 episodes, covering various sustainability topics through discussions with experts and officials. Each episode will also feature cultural competitions with prizes from ADFD.

The programme will explore sustainability across different sectors, the ADFD’s role in promoting development, and the impact of national industries in supporting UAE exports and diversifying the economy. It will also address climate change, reviewing global practices for reducing its effects and transitioning to clean energy, while reflecting on the UAE’s achievements at COP28.
