DUBAI: The fourth edition of the Dubai Metro Music Festival, organised by Brand Dubai in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will take place from 21 to 27 September 2024. This weeklong festival will transform five metro stations – The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Union, and DMCC – into lively hubs of music from around the world.

Twenty musicians from the UAE and across the globe will entertain commuters daily with a wide variety of instruments, genres, and styles. Performances will take place between 5.00 pm and 10.00 pm, rotating across the five stations to ensure a unique experience for all.

The festival marks the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro and reflects RTA’s commitment to enhancing the happiness of residents and visitors. Rashed Al Mulla from RTA praised the collaboration with Brand Dubai, highlighting the event’s role in showcasing Dubai’s vibrant creative scene.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, expressed excitement about the festival, noting how it celebrates Dubai’s cultural diversity and reinforces the city’s reputation as a global hub for innovation and creativity.

The event will feature a mix of classical and avant-garde performances, including musicians playing traditional instruments like the Qanun, flute, and darbuka, as well as innovative acts using recycled materials. Highlights include a nine-year-old prodigy on the Qanun, a piano performance by a 14-year-old Emirati boy with autism, and an energetic drumming show.
