ABU DHABI: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has gained global recognition once again. According to 2024 report by TripAdvisor, the mosque ranks highly among the world’s top cultural and historical landmarks.
Based on feedback on TripAdvisor from over 8 million travelers, the mosque is celebrated for its unique cultural and historical experiences. It holds the 10th place globally and the top spot in the Middle East in the ‘Top Attractions’ category. Additionally, it ranks 17th globally and 2nd in the Middle East for the travel experience from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, which includes the mosque, Qasr Al Watan, and Etihad Towers. Notably, TripAdvisor placed Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque at 3rd place globally in ‘Cultural and Historical Experiences,’ improving its rankings from the previous year.

Dr. Yousif Alobaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, attributes this success to the vision of their leadership and the Centre’s five-year strategic plan to enhance visitor services. The Centre has trained over 250 young nationals in cultural tour guidance, who now deliver more than 5,000 cultural tours annually. These efforts cater to over 7 million visitors from around the world, with 80% coming from outside the UAE.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre continues to expand and improve its facilities, offering comprehensive services that allow visitors to spend a full day on-site. The Visitor Center includes exhibition halls, an auditorium, and a library. The Souq Al Jami offers shops, entertainment, and dining options for all ages. A jogging track also provides a space for sports activities against the mosque’s stunning backdrop.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre’s dedicated teams work under a strategic plan to ensure exceptional visitor experiences. This includes unique “Hidden Glimpses” tours in electric vehicles, offering an in-depth look at the mosque, and ‘Sura’ night cultural tours from 10 PM to 9 AM. These tours cater to visitors in transit and those looking for a unique nighttime experience.
Additionally, the ‘El-Delleel’ service provides virtual cultural tours in 14 languages, making the mosque accessible 24/7 and enriching visitors’ understanding of this prominent landmark.
