DUBAI: The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center has announced a sweet new addition to the Dubai Date Festival 2026: the ‘Tamrat Al Bayt’ Cup, a competition dedicated to home-grown dates cultivated in private residences. The launch took place today during a press briefing at the Centre, led by H.E. Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook, CEO of the Heritage Center, and attended by department heads and regional media.
The ‘Tamrat Al Bayt’ Cup is unlike any other category—it celebrates the love and care that Emirati families invest in growing dates in their own backyards. Home gardeners will now be able to showcase their prized palm fruits on an official stage, with plenty of time to perfect their harvests before the festival.
That’s not all. In partnership with Emirates Auction, the event will also host a premium auction featuring the finest palm-tree varieties. Additionally, a new competition will spotlight the rare and desirable “Hilwat Dubai” date variety, set to be a highlight of the seven-day festival.
These additions aim to bring Emirati heritage to the heart of the community, honouring the cultural and symbolic importance of the palm tree while encouraging deeper public engagement.
