DUBAI: For the first time ever, the spellbinding Broadway sensation WICKED will be performed live in Dubai, as Dubai Opera and Broadway Entertainment Group confirm the musical’s debut from 28 January to 15 February 2026. This new production promises all the magic fans expect—reimagined costumes, breathtaking sets, and a jaw-dropping scene featuring a witch flying over the audience, a regional first. With over 100 cast, crew, and orchestra members, and more than 350 spectacular costumes, WICKED’s Dubai premiere is set to be one of the most ambitious theatrical events the city has ever hosted.
WICKED has already enchanted over 65 million people in 130+ cities across 16 countries, and now its powerful story of friendship, identity, and self-discovery is coming to the Middle East. Audiences can expect beloved musical numbers including “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good,” performed by an internationally acclaimed cast.
Stephen Schwartz, the show’s composer and lyricist, said he is “delighted” the production is arriving in Dubai, calling it a story that inspires courage and truth. Broadway Entertainment Group, celebrating 15 years in Dubai, brings the show to the UAE after five years of planning.
