ABU DHABI: The Muslim Council of Elders, led by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, sees young people as the heart of progress and growth. They believe strongly in empowering youth by giving them the tools they need through education and training, while also nurturing their values and providing platforms for them to voice their ideas and take action for a brighter future.

On World Youth Skills Day, celebrated each July 15th, the Council emphasizes the importance of collaboration among governments, schools, community groups, and others to help young people develop the skills for creativity and innovation. They understand that by investing in youth and enhancing their abilities, we can tackle global challenges together. The Council values the role young people play in promoting peace, fostering understanding among different cultures, and opening up channels for dialogue.

The Council isn’t just about words—it’s about action. They support initiatives like the “Emerging Peacemakers Forum,” where young adults aged 18 to 30 can launch projects that build peace and promote tolerance. They also run the “Human Fraternity Dialogues,” connecting university students worldwide to share ideas on how to unite people of different faiths and cultures.

Moreover, the Council is dedicated to integrating ethical values into education through the “Ethics Education Fellowship” and promoting dialogue and understanding through the “Azadi Fellowship Program” in Islamabad. These efforts show their commitment to nurturing young leaders who will shape their communities and contribute positively to global peace.

For the Muslim Council of Elders, youth aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow—they’re the leaders of today, making a real difference in building a world where everyone can thrive together.
