SHARJAH: The 2024 Sharjah Summer Promotions, organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in partnership with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), wrapped up on Sunday with a grand celebration at Sahara Centre. Over 63 days, the event attracted large crowds, generating more than AED 700 million in sales and solidifying Sharjah’s status as a top shopping and tourism destination.

The closing ceremony featured a grand raffle where Ali Salah Mahdi from Iraq won a luxury car, and other prizes worth AED 3 million, including gold bars, shopping vouchers, and hotel packages, were awarded to over 200 winners.

This year’s event saw major participation from shopping malls and retailers across Sharjah, offering significant discounts on local and international brands. The “Back to School” campaign, with discounts up to 80% on school supplies, was particularly popular.

HE Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, highlighted the festival’s importance in boosting Sharjah’s economy and attracting visitors. The event provided an ideal opportunity for the retail sector to thrive, showcasing Sharjah’s tourist attractions.

Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, SCCI’s Director of Economic Relations and Marketing, noted that this year’s festival significantly revitalized retail and commercial activity, leading to a notable increase in sales. The festival included 70 entertainment activities, cultural performances, workshops, and family-friendly events, offering a unique shopping experience for visitors and residents across Sharjah.
