Manish Malhotra redefines Indian fashion events with India’s first couture party, starring Alessandra Ambrosio and his latest INAYA collection.
New Delhi: In a landmark moment for Indian fashion, designer Manish Malhotra hosted the country’s first-ever Couture Party at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, abandoning the traditional runway format in favour of a vibrant, immersive showcase. The event marked the return of Malhotra to India Couture Week after five years and introduced INAYA, a striking new collection celebrating after-dark couture.
Global supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio made her debut Indian fashion appearance as the evening’s muse. Dressed in The Lady Crystal Diamond and The Pearl Story, her looks combined Indian craftsmanship with global glamour. INAYA featured hypnotic swirl skirts, fluid cocktail saris with crystal pallus, contoured gowns, and sculpted tuxedos for men. Manish Malhotra High Jewellery elevated the ensembles with heirloom jhumkas, brooches, haathphools, and collar pins.
The night also presented a curated exhibit of archival masterpieces, including MET Gala ensembles and Bollywood costume classics, spotlighting Malhotra’s creative journey. The event doubled as a showcase of legacy, design, and storytelling.
Setting the tone for a progressive celebration of fashion, the party featured an all-women performance lineup—Jonita Gandhi, DJ Kayan, and Lush Lata—adding soundscapes to the visual splendour. The evening blurred boundaries between stage and audience, past and present, couture and celebration.
Malhotra called it a personal return: “No front rows, no runway—just a couture celebration with legacy, music, and warmth.”
By placing women, emotion, and immersive design at the centre, Manish Malhotra’s Couture Party redefined Indian fashion presentation. It wasn’t just a show—it was an experience.
Manish Malhotra Couture is evolving, and INAYA is just the beginning.
