Sharjah Airport welcomes Fly Cham with new flights to Damascus and Aleppo, enhancing regional travel and air connectivity with Syria.
SHARJAH: Sharjah Airport has expanded its international reach by welcoming Fly Cham, a Syrian airline that began operating flights between Sharjah and two major Syrian cities – Damascus and Aleppo – starting 28 August. This development strengthens the airport’s growing role as a regional aviation hub and supports growing demand for convenient travel links between the UAE and Syria.
The new Fly Cham flights to Sharjah were inaugurated in the presence of senior officials from the Sharjah Airport Authority and Fly Cham leadership. The airline will operate five weekly flights from Damascus and two from Aleppo using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering travellers more flexibility and convenience.
Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said that the launch of Fly Cham services marks a significant step in the airport’s long-term strategic expansion, with a focus on improving regional air mobility and offering passengers increased options. He highlighted the airport’s readiness to provide world-class infrastructure, smooth operations, and quality customer service to its partners.
Captain Moussa Boutros, CEO of Fly Cham, shared his optimism about the collaboration, stating that the partnership reflects their confidence in Sharjah Airport’s international reputation and operational standards. He affirmed that this route expansion is key to Fly Cham’s regional growth strategy and helps cater to strong demand for travel between Syria and the UAE.
The introduction of Fly Cham flights to Sharjah will help reconnect families, expand tourism, and promote business links, further positioning Sharjah as a leading gateway for regional and international air travel.
