DUBAI: If you’re still figuring out where to fly this summer, Emirates Airlines has just dropped some travel inspiration straight from the source—real-time booking data. From tropical escapes to offbeat gems, the airline’s search and booking stats for July and August 2025 reveal where everyone’s headed this season. Spoiler alert: Vietnam is topping the list.

According to Emirates, flight searches for summer holidays are up 7% from last year, and the trend points to travellers ditching the usual for fresh cultural adventures. Vietnam, for example, has seen a massive 61% spike in interest. With Emirates now flying to Da Nang alongside Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, travellers have easy access to beaches, heritage sites, and the kind of street food that lives rent-free in your memory.

Next up is Mauritius, where search traffic jumped 41%, proving that island life never goes out of style—especially when you can get there on a daily Emirates A380. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s serene landscapes and budget luxury saw a 32% rise in travel intent, and Japan, with its incredible blend of tradition and tech, is seeing 28% growth in interest.

France, ever the crowd-pleaser, rounds out the top five with a 25% increase in summer searches. Emirates is meeting that demand with three daily A380 flights to Paris, plus routes to Nice and Lyon. Over in the UAE, searches for flights are also up, with more travellers planning visits to Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, and even Morocco.
Globally, Emirates is noticing some fun regional trends: American flyers are favouring Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa; UK travellers are showing more love for faraway escapes like New Zealand, Japan, and Mauritius. Indians are setting sights on Ireland and Australia, and Germans are looking East—Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea are their top searches.
Summer also means longer holidays. Emirates data shows nearly a third of travellers from India, UK, Germany, and Australia plan to jet off for over a month. US travellers usually stick to 2–3 week trips.
And let’s not forget about Dubai, which continues to shine as a summer hotspot in its own right. Emirates expects strong inbound traffic, with solo travellers, families, and couples all adding flavour to the mix. Solo travellers—especially from the US, India, and Australia—make up almost half the summer crowd. Families from the UK often stretch their stay beyond two weeks, while couples from Germany and Australia lean into long, romantic stays.
