Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) is all set to participate in the 2024 World Utilities Congress (WUC), happening from September 16 to 18 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This major event is hosted by Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) and supported by key organisations, including the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.
Held under the theme “Towards a Secure and Sustainable Utilities Sector Future,” this third edition of WUC aims to bring together global industry leaders, policymakers, and experts. It offers a platform to share knowledge and discuss key challenges and solutions in the utilities sector.

His Excellency Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi DoE, expressed excitement about the event. He emphasised the importance of the congress in showcasing Abu Dhabi’s efforts in the energy sector. The DoE is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and aims to strengthen clean and renewable energy initiatives.
The DoE’s Undersecretary, Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Al Rumaithi, highlighted the congress as a valuable opportunity to connect with global energy leaders. He stressed the importance of strategic partnerships and innovation in water and electricity services. The department aims to present its new policies and projects, including the Foresight Reports Series and the Abu Dhabi Energy and Water Efficiency Strategy 2030.
