Burjeel Hospital launches the first Interventional Pain Management Centre in Dubai, offering advanced, image-guided treatments for chronic and cancer-related pain.
Dubai: Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery has announced the launch of the Burjeel Center for Interventional Pain Management, the first dedicated facility of its kind in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Designed to offer comprehensive and minimally invasive care, the new centre targets chronic spine and joint pain, cancer-related discomfort, and nerve and musculoskeletal disorders.
The centre was officially inaugurated in the presence of Mr Safeer Ahamed, Co-CEO of Burjeel Holdings, alongside senior officials. “This launch reflects our unwavering commitment to expanding access to advanced, patient-focused care,” Mr Ahamed said. “Our aim is to empower individuals living with chronic pain by offering timely and effective solutions.”
A Multidisciplinary Approach to Pain Relief
Under the leadership of Dr Manish Raj, a specialist in endoscopic spine and interventional pain medicine, the centre brings together expertise across endoscopic surgery, physiotherapy, oncology, and interventional techniques. The focus is on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that reduce recovery time and enhance patient outcomes.
Advanced interventions include spinal cord and DRG stimulation for complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), intrathecal pump implants for cancer and chronic cases, and regenerative therapies like PRP and prolotherapy for sports injuries or osteoarthritis. The centre also provides targeted nerve blocks and guided injections for migraines, pelvic pain, and joint conditions.
Conditions Treated
Patients suffering from chronic back and neck pain, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, osteoarthritis, failed back surgery syndrome, and diabetic or post-injury neuropathy can access personalised care. The centre also addresses visceral and cancer pain, including tumour-induced abdominal and pelvic discomfort.
