Dubai International (DXB) sees highest-ever H1 passenger traffic, with 46 million travellers, strong growth, and peak performance despite regional airspace issues.

Dubai: Dubai International Airport (DXB) welcomed 46 million guests in the first half of 2025—its busiest H1 ever. The 2.3% year-on-year rise highlights DXB’s continued dominance in global aviation and its resilience amidst regional airspace disruptions in May and June.

The second quarter alone saw 22.5 million passengers, with April clocking 8 million—making it the busiest April on record. January topped H1 with 8.5 million guests.

CEO Paul Griffiths credited the “oneDXB” mindset for enabling seamless travel despite regional challenges. He noted that the second half will witness intensified activity, with the late-summer rush and major winter events, including the record-breaking Dubai Airshow 2025.

Efficiency remained a DXB hallmark: 254,000 average daily guests, 222,000 total flights, and 91% of 41.8 million bags delivered within 45 minutes. Baggage mishandling was just 2 per 1,000—well below the 2024 global average of 6.3.

Guest experience was top-tier—99.2% cleared departure passport control within 10 minutes, 98.4% breezed through arrivals in under 15 minutes, and 98.7% passed security checks within 5 minutes.

India remained DXB’s largest source market with 5.9 million guests, followed by Saudi Arabia (3.6 million), the UK (3.0 million), Pakistan (2.1 million), and the US (1.6 million). London led city destinations with 1.8 million travellers.

DXB processed over 1 million tonnes of cargo in H1, affirming its critical role in trade and logistics. The airport currently links Dubai to 269 destinations in 107 countries via 92 global carriers.

With strong H1 performance, DXB is on track for 96 million annual passengers in 2025—bringing it closer to the symbolic 100 million mark.

DXB passenger traffic growth continues to fuel Dubai’s global ambitions.
