Qatar condemns Israel’s attack on Hamas leaders in Doha as a violation of international law and threat to civilian safety.

Doha: The State of Qatar has accused Israel of launching a criminal attack in Doha, targeting the residential headquarters of several Hamas political bureau members. The assault, which took place on 9th September 2025, was met with an immediate response from Qatari security forces, civil defence, and relevant authorities. Their priority was to contain the situation and ensure the safety of residents in the surrounding areas.

In an official statement released by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari government condemned the operation as a “flagrant violation of all international laws and norms.” It emphasised that such acts represent a serious threat to the security of both Qatari citizens and residents. This incident marks a significant escalation, directly challenging Qatar’s sovereignty and destabilising regional security.

The attack has drawn sharp international criticism, with calls for accountability under international law. Qatar’s swift containment efforts prevented further harm, but the event underscores growing tensions in the region. The targeting of political figures in a residential area raises urgent questions about the conduct of extraterritorial operations and the protection of civilian lives.

As investigations continue, the Qatari government has reaffirmed its commitment to diplomatic resolutions and stability.
