Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed condemns the Israeli attack on Qatar, reaffirming UAE solidarity and urging international action.
UAE: The United Arab Emirates has issued a forceful condemnation of what it termed a “blatant and cowardly” Israeli attack on the State of Qatar. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, described the assault as a reckless violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a grave breach of international law. He emphasised that such aggression represents an irresponsible escalation that jeopardises regional and international peace and security.
In a strongly worded statement, Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s full solidarity with Qatar and expressed unwavering support for measures aimed at ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and residents. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also conveyed sincere condolences following the martyrdom of a member of Qatar’s Internal Security Force during the attack, extending sympathy to the victim’s family, the Qatari government, and its people.
Sheikh Abdullah underscored the urgent need for an immediate cessation of military escalation, warning that continued provocations could plunge the region into further instability. He called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfil its legal and moral responsibilities by deterring further Israeli aggression. The absence of a decisive international stance, he noted, risks catastrophic repercussions for global peace and security.
The UAE’s response highlights its commitment to diplomatic stability and regional solidarity amidst escalating tensions. This stance reflects a broader call for de-escalation and adherence to international law.
