CAIRO: In a historic announcement delivered in Cairo, US President Donald Trump commended the United Arab Emirates for its prominent contribution to the newly established peace agreement that has officially ended the war in Gaza. Addressing global leaders gathered in Egypt, Trump said the UAE played a vital role in supporting the diplomatic process that led to this momentous outcome.
Trump opened his speech declaring “peace in the Middle East”, noting that the region had reached a point many once thought impossible. “This is the day that people across the region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping and prayed for,” he said. “They have done things over the last month that I think were really unthinkable.”
He highlighted that “with the historic agreement we’ve just signed, those prayers of millions have finally been answered.” The President described the UAE Gaza peace role as “central to this success”, alongside efforts by Egypt, Türkiye, and Qatar.
As humanitarian aid begins to pour into the region, Trump emphasised the importance of rebuilding. “A new and beautiful day is rising,” he said. “And now, the rebuilding begins.”
“This momentous breakthrough is more than the end of the war in Gaza,” Trump continued. “With God’s help, it will be a new beginning for an entire beautiful Middle East.”
He gave special thanks to Egypt for hosting the peace summit and recognised the “tremendous support” from Arab and Muslim countries. “Most notably,” he said, “the United Arab Emirates played a key role in bringing us here.”
The President concluded by expressing his deep appreciation to regional leaders and partners who stood by the agreement, solidifying the UAE Gaza peace role as a cornerstone in the diplomatic success.
