James Gunn’s Superman, starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, launches DC’s new cinematic universe. Regional release begins 10th July in cinemas and IMAX.
Dubai: DC Studios kicks off its reimagined cinematic universe with James Gunn’s Superman, set to release in cinemas and IMAX across the region on 10th July. Directed by Gunn and produced alongside Peter Safran, this bold new take on the original Super Hero promises an engaging mix of epic action, heart, and humour.
Starring David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the sinister Lex Luthor, the film explores the duality of Superman’s life—his Kryptonian roots and Smallville upbringing. Struggling to find balance between his alien identity and human values, Superman emerges as a beacon of hope, driven by compassion and a deep belief in humanity’s potential.
When Superman’s global interventions begin raising doubts, his actions are manipulated by tech mogul and manipulative genius Lex Luthor, who is determined to bring the Man of Steel to his knees. As danger looms, Lois Lane, Metropolis’s emerging heroes, and Superman’s loyal dog Krypto step in to prevent Luthor from eliminating Earth’s greatest protector.
Based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the film’s screenplay is penned by Gunn himself. The movie also features a dynamic ensemble cast including Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
The creative team includes Gunn’s frequent collaborators—Henry Braham (cinematography), Beth Mickle (production design), Judianna Makovsky (costumes), and composers John Murphy and David Fleming. William Hoy and Craig Alpert serve as editors. Executive producers include Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther.
Presented by DC Studios in association with Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company, Superman is poised to be a landmark release that blends a fresh narrative with the timeless ideals of truth, justice, and hope.
Don’t miss Superman James Gunn in theatres regionally from 10th July, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
