IACAD and Parkin sign landmark partnership to manage smart mosque parking across 59 Dubai sites, offering free prayer-time access and improving worshipper experience.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has signed a pioneering partnership with Parkin Company PJSC to streamline mosque parking access and enhance the overall religious experience for worshippers across Dubai.

Under the first phase of this revenue-sharing agreement, Parkin will manage approximately 2,100 parking spaces across 59 mosque locations in Dubai. As part of the plan, worshippers will enjoy free parking for one hour during prayer times, easing congestion and making mosque visits more accessible. The initiative is set to roll out from August 2025.

The project, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between IACAD and Parkin, aligns with Dubai’s smart mobility goals and aims to reduce misuse of mosque parking while increasing convenience for genuine visitors. Of the 59 sites, 41 will be designated as standard Zone M, and 18 as premium Zone MP, with parking chargeable 24/7 outside designated prayer windows.

H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, praised the initiative as a significant milestone in public-private cooperation, saying it enhances the spiritual environment by improving worshipper services and promoting inclusive, smart infrastructure.

Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, emphasised that the move reflects a community-first approach. “This measure balances accessibility with efficiency, making it easier for worshippers to reach mosques without logistical stress,” he said.

Mohammed Musbeh Dhahi, Executive Director at IACAD, added that the initiative supports enhanced mosque supervision, better maintenance management, and ensures optimal preparedness of surrounding facilities.

This partnership expands Parkin’s private parking portfolio to over 20,800 spaces and is expected to scale further across more mosques under IACAD’s network.
