KUWAIT CITY: In a move aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and easing travel procedures, India has officially launched its e-visa service for Kuwaiti nationals starting July 13, 2025. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait made the announcement, marking a new chapter in India–Kuwait relations and promoting seamless cross-border travel.

Under the new facility, Kuwaiti citizens can now apply for Indian visas online without visiting a consulate or embassy in person. The e-visa option is available for multiple travel categories, including tourism, business, and medical visits. Applicants are required to fill out a digital form, upload necessary documents, and receive their visa electronically.

The move is expected to boost travel, trade, and cultural exchange between the two countries. With large numbers of Indian expatriates residing in Kuwait and growing interest among Kuwaiti citizens in Indian tourism, medical treatment, and business opportunities, the e-visa scheme is seen as a timely and practical step forward.

Officials at the Indian Embassy noted that the decision aligns with India’s broader push for digital governance and improved diplomatic outreach. It also reflects the ongoing efforts to modernise visa services and strengthen people-to-people ties across the Gulf.

The rollout follows similar e-visa expansions by India to other countries, further reinforcing its vision for global mobility and diplomatic connectivity.

Citizens of Kuwait can access the e-visa portal through the official Indian government website, where guidelines, eligibility criteria, and support services are now fully available in both English and Arabic.
