ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s First Lady, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, has commended the resilience and accomplishments of Emirati women in a heartfelt tribute on Emirati Women’s Day. She highlighted the integral role of women in the UAE’s development, recognising them as a source of global inspiration in leadership, innovation, and societal impact.

Taking to her official X account, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari wrote: “On Emirati Women’s Day, I salute the resilience of Emirati women breaking barriers and assuming leadership in government, business, science and culture, guided by the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation.”

Her message reinforces the significance of Emirati women’s growing presence in key sectors, aligning with the broader regional narrative of empowerment and inclusion. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s leadership has long championed women’s development, creating pathways for the next generation of Emirati women to thrive locally and internationally.

The Emirati women’s leadership being recognised extends across government, science, arts, and business — areas where UAE women are increasingly setting regional and global benchmarks. This gesture by Pakistan’s First Lady reflects the deepening diplomatic and cultural bonds between the two nations and their shared vision for women-led progress.

Emirati Women’s Day, observed annually on 28 August, continues to spotlight female achievements and ambitions in the UAE, with 2025 marking 50 years since the founding of the General Women’s Union — a cornerstone of the nation’s empowerment journey.
