UAE: The UAE’s first government-owned EV charging network, UAEV, will introduce new tariffs starting January 2025, following the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure’s guidelines.
Since May, UAEV has provided free charging services. From January, tariffs will be set at 1.2 DHS/kWh + VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh + VAT for AC chargers, ensuring fair, transparent pricing. This move aims to support network scalability, service quality, and the UAE’s green energy vision.
To further enhance EV user experience, UAEV is launching a user-friendly mobile app and a 24/7 call centre. The app will offer key features like real-time station updates, payment options, and navigation tools, empowering drivers with seamless access to the network. The 24/7 call centre ensures immediate assistance, supporting smooth EV journeys across the UAE.
Chairman of UAEV, Sharif al Olama, described the initiative as a key milestone in the UAE’s path to sustainable transportation. He said, “With standardised tariffs and innovative solutions like the UAEV app and 24/7 support, we are committed to enhancing the EV driver experience. Our network expansion aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, driving a greener, cleaner future for all.”
Looking ahead, UAEV aims to deploy 1,000 charging stations by 2030, strategically placed in urban hubs, highways, and key transit points. This will ensure convenient access for both local and intercity EV drivers.
As a core contributor to the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, UAEV focuses on reducing carbon emissions, promoting sustainable transport, and supporting green mobility. By offering high-speed charging, real-time monitoring, and seamless payment solutions, UAEV is empowering the shift to electric vehicles in the UAE.
