DXB is set to welcome over 3.6 million guests between 13–25 August as families return ahead of the school year.
DUBAI: Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for one of its busiest travel periods of the year, with more than 3.6 million guests expected between 13 and 25 August 2025. The surge comes as families return from summer holidays and students head back to the city for the start of the new academic year.
Daily passenger volumes are forecast to average 280,000, with Friday, 15 August set to be the peak travel day, exceeding 290,000 passengers. The rush follows a record-breaking first half of 2025, during which Dubai welcomed 9.88 million international overnight visitors — a 6% rise year-on-year — and DXB handled over 46 million guests, maintaining its status as the world’s busiest international airport.
To ensure a smooth journey during the peak, Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines, control authorities, and service partners under the oneDXB community initiative. Special arrangements are also in place for People of Determination, including marked accessibility routes, discreet assistance for Sunflower Lanyard wearers, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.
With enhanced coordination and customer service, DXB aims to make the back-to-school travel rush as seamless as possible for all passengers.
