Dubai Airports and Mawaheb unveiled an inspiring art exhibition at DXB Terminal 1, featuring works by 12 artists of determination to promote inclusion.
Dubai: Dubai Airports has unveiled a powerful new art exhibition at Dubai International (DXB), created in collaboration with Mawaheb, a Dubai-based art studio for People of Determination. The showcase features 12 striking canvases by talented local artists, presented in Terminal 1 to celebrate inclusion and creativity in line with the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’.
The exhibition invites global travellers to experience the unique stories and perspectives behind each artwork. It reflects Dubai Airports’ long-standing partnership with Mawaheb, which began in 2017, and underlines its commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming environments for all.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports and recently appointed Mawaheb Ambassador, praised the exhibition’s impact. “The artwork on display challenges perceptions and leaves a lasting impression on the millions of passengers who pass through DXB,” he said. “Each piece reminds us that every individual has a voice and a story worth sharing.”
Wemmy de Maaker, Founder and Managing Director of Mawaheb, said: “This exhibition is a testament to the talent and resilience of our artists. Having their work shown at one of the world’s busiest airports empowers them and inspires every visitor.”
The exhibition presents a diverse range of styles—from surrealism to pop art—highlighting the artists’ raw expression and bold creativity. Standout works include “Shapes of My Mind” by Kieran Carter, “Prezioso” by Marwan Al Khaja, “Leila’s Lillies” by Leila Murgian, and “The Light Inside Me” by Zaid Jafar. Other featured artists include Reikha Kaplani, Saad, Faran Imitiaz, Namrata Pagarani, Richard Gillam, Sean McLennon, and Nitin Bablani.
This initiative marks another step in Dubai Airports’ mission to integrate arts, culture, and inclusion within the travel experience, providing a global stage for underrepresented voices.
