Dubai’s Security Committee reminds Asia Cup fans to respect rules and uphold sportsmanship during India-Pakistan clash.

DUBAI: The Events Security Committee (ESC) in Dubai has urged all spectators attending the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 showdown between India and Pakistan to strictly follow laws, safety protocols, and display sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium is set to host this high-profile match, and authorities have already made extensive preparations. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, said that specialised police units are fully ready to secure the stadium and act promptly in case of any disturbances.

To ensure a smooth and safe event, Dubai’s Security Committee has issued a reminder to fans about strict penalties under the Federal Law on the Security of Sports Facilities and Events. Those violating rules, such as entering the pitch without authorisation or bringing fireworks, could face jail time between one and three months and fines of AED 5,000 to AED 30,000. Offences involving violence or racist language could attract even harsher punishments.

Dubai authorities have also published a list of restricted items, including fireworks, flammable liquids, sharp objects, glass items, remote-controlled devices, and even umbrellas. Major General Al Mazrouei highlighted that these pose serious risks to fans, players, and officials and will not be allowed inside the stadium.

The ESC advised attendees to arrive at least three hours before kick-off, ensure their tickets are valid, and park responsibly. Spectators are also reminded that re-entry is not permitted once they enter the stadium.

The call for discipline and courtesy reflects the UAE’s reputation for hosting world-class events with top-tier safety standards. The message is clear: enjoy the game, but respect the laws and spirit of sportsmanship at all times.
