Dubai Police unveils a back-to-school security initiative with 250 patrols, drones, and awareness programmes to ensure safe learning environments.
DUBAI: As students across the emirate return to classrooms for the 2025–2026 academic year, Dubai Police has launched a comprehensive back-to-school security and awareness plan under its “School Security” initiative. The programme aims to safeguard school zones, boost road safety, and strengthen community engagement among students, teachers, and parents.
This year’s plan includes the deployment of 250 security and traffic patrols, supported by nine drones for monitoring traffic flow, six luxury patrol vehicles, four mounted police units, and 60 bicycles to increase visibility in school areas. More than 750 police officers and personnel will engage directly with students, while 300 children will participate in the Safety Ambassadors programme, designed to raise awareness among their peers.
A total of 28 awareness programmes in collaboration with 15 partner organisations are planned, covering safety education, road awareness, and community integration. In addition, field teams will visit 71 schools — including Hemaya schools — to interact with students, distribute supplies, and introduce Dubai Police services and safety measures.
Speaking at the launch event at the Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, Dr Brigadier Abdulrahman Al Maamari, Secretary-General of Hemaya Council, said that under the directives of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the initiative focuses on making the educational environment safer and more interactive through innovative field programmes.
The initiative also highlights collaboration between families, schools, and law enforcement. Captain Majid bin Saaed Al Kaabi, Head of the School Security initiative, noted that activities will include 18 events, from road safety guidance and awareness lectures to entertainment activities featuring Dubai Police mascot “Mansour”.
By combining community involvement with advanced patrol methods, Dubai Police is reinforcing its message that the safety of children is a shared responsibility, ensuring students can enjoy a safe and motivating academic year.
