Dubai RTA introduces Tadreeb digital platform to train drivers with AI, boosting safety and efficiency across training institutes.
DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is advancing its digital transformation by training and qualifying new drivers through the innovative Tadreeb platform. The fully digitised system connects all driving institutes in Dubai, automates training and assessments, and consolidates trainee data to ensure higher quality and safer driving standards.
Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, explained: “The platform identifies the needs of trainees through data analysis, ensuring quality training for drivers while enhancing governance and aligning with international best practices.”
Utilising artificial intelligence, Tadreeb integrates more than 27 training institute locations, 3,400 instructors, and 3,000 training vehicles. Each training vehicle is geo-tracked and linked to the central system, ensuring accuracy and safety. The platform currently supports around 250,000 trainees annually, delivering over six million hours of training in a completely paperless process.
Key outcomes include higher training quality, enhanced transparency in assessments, and measurable reductions in fatalities among new drivers. The system also streamlines driver permits and contracts by integrating with issuing authorities, cutting waiting times in half, lowering operational costs, and enabling remote monitoring via the Smart Licensing Centre. Compliance among trainers has reached 97% across all training stages.
“Tadreeb contributes to global road safety goals by adopting AI, smart dashboards, and automated performance evaluations,” Mahboob added.
The platform has gained international recognition, being the first unified driver training platform accredited by the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA). It also won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award this year.
Looking ahead, RTA aims to enhance Tadreeb further by harnessing AI to personalise training, expand remote monitoring, and ensure sustainable next-generation driver training. The initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to safer roads, seamless services, and sustainable mobility solutions.
