Dubai RTA launches five new bus routes and upgrades nine existing ones to improve connectivity across the city.
DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of five new public bus routes from 29 August 2025, in line with growing demand and the city’s expanding urban landscape. The initiative is designed to provide faster, more convenient journeys for passengers and to enhance the integration of buses with other public transport services.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said: “RTA is continuously committed to expanding and developing public bus services to support Dubai’s public transport network, in harmony with the emirate’s population growth and overall progress across all sectors.”
New routes include:
- Route 31: Dubai Outsource City – Dubai Silicon Oasis, running every 20 minutes during peak hours.
- Route 62A & 62B: Splitting the current Route 62. Route 62A will link Al Qusais Industrial Area with Al Qusais Metro Station, while 62B connects Al Qusais Metro Station with Ras Al Khor – Samari Residences. Both will run every 30 minutes during peak hours.
- Route F26A: Onpassive Bus Station – Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, with buses every 30 minutes at peak times.
- Route X91: Express service between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Jebel Ali Bus Station, bypassing Business Bay Metro Station.
Upgrades to existing routes:
Alongside the new launches, RTA will enhance nine current routes, including 7, 91, F62, 77, X25, 50, 21A, 21B, and J01. Adjustments range from converting circular services into two-directional routes to shortening routes for improved efficiency.
Shakri added that these improvements are part of a wider strategy to encourage the use of public transport and ensure smooth connectivity with other modes such as the metro, tram, and marine services. The goal is to make public transport the most convenient choice for mobility across Dubai.
