Dubai RTA introduces new regulation to elevate tourist transport standards, ensuring safer, more reliable services across the emirate.

DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has issued a new Executive Regulation to govern tourist transport activities in the emirate, enhancing service quality and reinforcing Dubai’s global status as a premier travel destination. Enacted under Administrative Decision No. (97) of 2025 and in line with Executive Council Resolution No. (107) of 2023, this move reflects Dubai’s strategic vision to align tourism and transport with global best practices.

Developed in collaboration with the Department of Economy and Tourism, the regulation aims to provide an integrated, high-standard transport framework catering specifically to tourists. It introduces updated rules for issuing and renewing permits for tourist transport operators, vehicle registrations, and professional licensing for drivers involved in the sector.

The RTA will oversee the end-to-end regulatory process, including permit applications via its official channels. These changes are expected to deliver tangible improvements to the tourist experience, while offering enhanced business opportunities for companies in the tourism transport sector.

This step highlights Dubai’s continued investment in premium, safe, and efficient mobility services, supporting its broader economic goals and reinforcing its commitment to top-tier tourism infrastructure.
