GITEX GLOBAL 2025 wrapped up its landmark edition in Dubai with record participation, AI innovations, and future-shaping deals.
DUBAI: The curtains have closed on GITEX GLOBAL 2025, which concluded its landmark 45th edition after a week of groundbreaking tech reveals, record-breaking participation, and global partnership deals. Held across Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Harbour, this year’s event attracted 6,800 tech companies, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and representatives from 180 countries.
From AI and biotech to semiconductors and data infrastructure, the event was a powerful demonstration of the UAE’s position as a tech powerhouse. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and G42’s Peng Xiao led one of the most awaited sessions, discussing how global partnerships can shape AI-native societies. This was followed by high-level ministerial discussions from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, addressing regulatory frameworks and data sovereignty.
GITEX GLOBAL 2025 also spotlighted the next wave of tech innovation through the Quantum Expo, Physical AI, Digi Health & Biotech zones, and Super Data Centres. Startups unveiled futuristic innovations including glucose-measuring smart lenses, brain-computer interfaces, and gene-editing technologies. Major players like AWS, Oracle, AMD, Microsoft, Google, Huawei, and IBM showcased new solutions designed to power sovereign AI infrastructure.
A record number of MoUs were signed, notably between Presight and Dubai Taxi Company to develop AI for smart mobility, and AWS with e& to train 30,000 citizens under the ‘AI Nation – Afaaq’ initiative. Abu Dhabi’s municipalities also unveiled 19 digital transformation deals in a single day.
At the startup arena, Expand North Star, founders from over 100 countries connected with investors representing US$1.1 trillion in assets. The US$300,000 Supernova Challenge crowned AIM Intelligence from Korea as the winner, highlighting GITEX’s expanding influence.
Looking ahead, GITEX will return in December 2026 with a brand-new concept: TechCation — a fusion of business, culture, and networking hosted at Expo City Dubai. GITEX GLOBAL 2025 has clearly reinforced the UAE’s leadership in shaping future tech ecosystems.
