Sheikh Mohammed has directed GITEX TechCation 2026 to become the world’s largest technology and AI event, hosted across Dubai in December.
DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed that GITEX TechCation 2026 be developed into the world’s largest event in artificial intelligence and technology. To be held from December 7–11, 2026, this future-forward initiative positions Dubai as the ultimate global hub for innovation, investment, and tech-driven lifestyle.
Supervised by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the new citywide event will transform Dubai into a live innovation playground, bringing together top global tech firms, startups, investors, and digital creatives. Hosted at Expo City Dubai, GITEX TechCation blends technology with the city’s vibrant culture, culinary scene, and tourism experiences.
In the run-up to the event, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) signed a strategic agreement to co-develop immersive activations. The partnership will integrate Dubai’s cultural and tourism ecosystem into the GITEX TechCation experience, encouraging extended visitor stays and long-term business opportunities in the emirate.
Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s evolving global vision and tech leadership under the D33 Economic Agenda. Meanwhile, Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of DWTC, described TechCation as a “bold reconfiguration” of global tech events, blending the ethos of “Tech Hard, Live Hard” across Dubai’s cityscape.
