Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed receives Diamond Award for Excellence in Culture, becoming the only Arab woman among 25 global honourees.

DUBAI: Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, has been awarded the prestigious Diamond Award for Excellence in Culture by the Asociación Española del Lujo (Luxury Spain). This recognition places Her Highness among an elite group of 25 global honourees, and notably, she is the only woman from the Arab region to receive the award this year.

Presented at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, the award honours Her Highness’s leadership and contributions to embedding culture as a pillar of human development, dialogue, and innovation. The Latifa Diamond Award culture recognition highlights her role in elevating Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture and creativity.

The ceremony was led by Her Royal Highness Princess Béatrice d’Orléans and Cristina Martín Blasi, founders and presidents of the Asociación Española del Lujo. Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, accepted the award on behalf of Her Highness.

The Diamond Awards brought together international figures in culture, fashion, technology, and diplomacy, including Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza, representatives from the United Nations, Chopard, the World Economic Forum, Kering Group, and Elie Saab.

Founded in 2010, the Asociación Española del Lujo celebrates excellence in luxury across sectors such as gastronomy, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and tourism. Its highest distinction, the Latifa Diamond Award culture, recognises visionary leaders for their cultural impact and commitment to advancing humanistic values.

Her Highness’s recognition underscores Dubai’s growing cultural diplomacy and highlights the importance of arts and heritage in international engagement. It also affirms the global relevance of regional leadership in shaping inclusive and innovative cultural landscapes.
